The Fists of Flame do not maintain a Scout company like many Chapters, but instead recruit as a when required, inducting new Scouts only when there are spaces to fill within the Chapter's fighting ranks.

During the time between being selected to being inducted as a full Battle Brother, a Scout learns the art of war and death, fighting with blade, bolt pistol and heavier forms of arms until such time as his true warrior spirit becomes known to his mentor. It is only then that he will be placed with a squad fitting his temperament and natural skills.

During his Scout training, he is given the implants that will transform him into a Space Marines including the secondary heart, third lung and the myriad of other organs that make Space Marines such exceptional warriors.

On the battlefield, Scouts are lightly armoured and wear suits of carapace armour to better serve them in their stealthy infiltration missions. From here, they can fulfil a number of roles from reconnaissance, sabotage or simply intelligence gathering exercises.

Unique Wargear:

Assault-pattern heavy bolter: Designed for their hit and run raids in mind, Fists of Flame Scouts often go to war with specially modified Heavy bolters which feature a shortened barrel, lightened internal bracing and reduced calibre ammo.

Heavy bolters upgraded to assault pattern heavy bolters follow the same rules for a heavy bolter with the following changes: They're range is reduced to 24" and they become Assault 3.

Limpet Mines: Limpet mines are small explosive devices which explode when an enemy unit blunders into their detection radius.

Scout Squads equipped with limpet mines may place as many limpet mine markers as they have purchased within 2" of the squad's starting position, after their Scout move but before the game begins. These markers may not be moved or shot at.

Should an enemy unit move over (or charge through) a limpet mine marker, they take D6 Strength 3 AP- hits.

Any causalities taken from limpet mines during the Movement count towards the next Fists of Flame Shooting Phase. Any casualties taken from the limpet mines during the Assault Phase counts towards that turn's Assault.

    • Meltagun for +10 points
    • Heavy flamer for +5 points
    • Assault pattern heavy bolter for +20 points
    • Missile launcher for +25 points
    • Lascannon for +30 points
  • The Veteran may replace his close combat weapon or bolt pistol with:
    • Inferno axe for +15 points
    • Power weapon for +10 points
    • Power fist for +25 points
    • Plasma pistol for +15 points
  • The entire squad may be equipped with limpet mines for +20 points
