Harbinger Terminator Squad

Terminator armour, or Tactical Dreadnought armour as it is more commonly known, is constructed in such a way as to prove effective protection against even the strongest of enemy attacks. Indeed, Terminator armour was first developed to withstand the intense heat, pressure and radiation found deep in the plasma reactors employed by Imperial space-going vessels so as to allow their wearers to perform routine maintenance.

Each and every suit is highly prized and revered by the Chapter Techmarines who are given the sacred duty to vouchsafe and repair each precious suit that was entrusted to the Chapter upon its founding. Each suit is massively bulky and contains a full artificial skeleton of fibre bundles and adamantium rods to support the heavy guage armour plating that form the outer carapace, therefore such suits offers increased resilience, protection and strength, allowing each Terminator to carry and utilise an extensive array of fearsome weaponry from rapid firing storm bolters, the multi-barrelled assault cannon to heavy flamers, or deadly close combat weaponry like the talon-like lightning claws and destructive thunder hammers and protective storm shields.

Due to the precious nature and limited numbers of these suits, only the veteran Harbinger squads and the Chapter's officers are given the privilege of utilising Terminator armour in combat as the loss of a single suit would be devastating, so much so that the Fists of Flame will fight even harder to recover such potent technology should it fall on the battlefield.

It is due to this additional lethality of arms and the increased protection, Terminator armour-equipped Harbinger squads are tasked with most difficult and important missions and can be found where the fighting is the thickest, where their centuries of hard-won experience can be most effectively employed.

Indeed, it is common for Harbinger squads to held in reserve, awaiting their chance to strike from the Chapter's mighty Battle Barges, awaiting the time when they are called upon to teleport to where they are needed most, allowing them to be deployed at a moments notice right where they are needed.

On Gandran, Fists of Flame Terminators were employed to break the back of the resistance, teleporting directly into the armoured bunkers of the anti-Imperial resistance fighters and within minutes, the leadership of the resistance had been slain with righteous fury and the resulting victory was swift as drop pods thundered into population centres all across Gandran to shatter the remaining pockets of resistance.

The Crux Terminatus

Each suit of Terminator armour bears upon its left shoulder the Crux Terminatus. Each Crux Terminatus is said to contain a slither of the battle armour the Emperor wore when he defeated the traitor Horus during the Horus Heresy and so therefore, each suit of Terminator armour is seen as an extension of the Emperor's will, offering the warriors clad thusly the a measure of the Emperor's own protection.
